The In
View series, which airs on cable networks and cable channels across the
country, most notably on the Discovery Channel), features inspirational and
upbeat stories from different areas of society. The host of the series, Larry
King, remains one of the most well-recognized figures in the television world.
King, who began his broadcasting career in the 1950s as a radio personality,
spent more than 50 years in media. King started his career in South Florida,
working on local radio and local television broadcasts. In the 1970s, King
earned a chance to host a nationally-distributed radio broadcast that steadily
grew its audience. In the 1980s, King began a quarter-century run on CNN,
hosting “Larry King Live,” which aired nightly between 1985 and 2010.
Over the years, King’s fame and
notoriety grew. King landed numerous guest roles on TV shows and movies. He
also became one of the most parodied figures on television. King’s style of
interviewing and his love life have served as fodder for satire. King, who has
been married eight times to seven different women, has also had romantic
relationships with a number of notable ladies.
King’s storied career and award-winning
career in media has made him one of the best-known media figures in the history
of broadcasting. King won several CableACE awards over the years, as well as Peabody
awards. King has been inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame, as
well as the Broadcasters' Hall of Fame.
